To be registered as an IAAP Member, you need one of the
following qualifications as a minimum condition:
- IAB Level 4 Diploma in Accounting to International Standards
- ACCA Certified Accounting Technician
- CIMA Business Accounting
- Accounting Technicians of AAT, HKAAT and Sri Lanka (Level 4)
- LCCI Level 4 Certificates and Diplomas in Accounting
- ICB (South Africa) National Diploma Technical Financial
- Accounting NOF 5

Associate Member (AIAAP)
Entry level for early-career accounting practitioners
Minimum Entry Requirements — Meet at least ONE:
A) Academic Qualification
- Recognised Diploma in Accounting/Finance (RQF Level 4 or equivalent), OR
- Completion of Year 1 of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
B) Professional Qualification Route
Recognised entry-level qualifications such as:
- LCCI Level 3
- IAB Level 3
- Other equivalent international qualifications
C) Experience Route
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in:
- Accounting
- Bookkeeping
- Payroll
- Tax/audit support
- Finance operations
Professional Conduct Requirement
- Must comply with IAAP’s Professional Code of Ethics & Conduct
Member (MIAAP)
For competent and experienced accounting professionals
Minimum Entry Requirements — Must meet BOTH A + B
A) Academic or Professional Qualification
Applicant must hold at least ONE of the following:
- Advanced Diploma in Accounting/Finance (RQF Level 5)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Partial completion of recognised professional qualifications, such as:
- ACCA (Applied Skills level)
- CIMA (Operational or Management Level)
- CPA/ICAEW/CAANZ intermediate stages
B) Professional Experience
- Minimum 4 years verified experience
- Proven competence in at least 3 areas:
- Financial accounting
- Management accounting
- Audit
- Taxation
- Reporting & compliance
- Payroll
- Internal controls & governance
- Costing & analysis
Professional Standing
- No disciplinary issues
- Demonstrated ethical behaviour
Fellow Member (FIAAP)
For senior experts, leaders, and distinguished contributors
Minimum Entry Requirements — Must meet ALL criteria
A) Mandatory Academic Requirement
A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is REQUIRED
(No exceptions unless approved by Board discretion.)
B) Accepted Professional Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following:
- IFAC Member Route
Membership in any professional body that is a full IFAC member (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, CAANZ, HKICPA, MICPA, SAICA, CPA Canada, etc.)
- IAAP ICPA/ ICPA (Fellow)/ICMA/LCCI IFA (International Financial Accountant)
C) Seniority & Professional Experience
- Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience, AND
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, such as:
- CFO / Finance Director
- Senior Accountant / Finance Manager
- Financial Controller
- Internal Audit Manager
- Senior Lecturer/Trainer in Accounting/Finance
- Partner / Senior Manager in practice
D) Contribution to the Profession
Applicant must demonstrate significant professional impact through one or more:
- Leadership within financial or accounting functions
- Contributions to governance, standards, or compliance
- Publications, research, or technical writing
- Advancement of accounting education or professional training
- Service to IAAP or other recognised bodies
- Industry achievements or recognitions
E) Professional Reputation
- Two references from senior professionals or Fellows
- No disciplinary record
