Maybank promises continued support for SMEs
Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) will continue to help its SME customers whose businesses have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, it has pledged.
The banking giant said customers who need financial help can contact it to work out a suitable repayment plan package to address their financial difficulties.
Maybank said applications can be submitted through various channels including online. “Maybank’s priority is to ensure that its customers continue to have access to the financial assistance they require as the pandemic prolongs and to be able to have some cashflow relief as they seek to manage their various other obligations during this challenging period,” it said.
The bank has processed over 200,000 applications and approved applications to the sum of RM32 billion. Of these approved ones, about 37% were given a further deferment in the repayment of their loans and financing, while other customers have had their instalment payments lowered for an agreed period.
Maybank has said that apart for repayment assistance, it continues to make available various financing solutions to businesses and individuals.
